Wow. I have neglected my poor blog! I can only hope to redeem myself in the coming months... I'll start with a challenge: the acrostic.
"...a poem or other form of writing in which the first letter, syllable or word of each line, paragraph or other recurring feature in the text spells out a word or a message"
I've been a fan of acrostics for some time yet haven't done any until recently. I particularly like the challenge of writing a double acrostic due to the inherent spacial limitations.
I also like writing poems about punctuation because I am, after all, a huge dork.
------------------------------------------------
Altogether unnoticed in speech patterns
Possession implying possession
Obsession implying illiterateness
Syllable-less replicas inept or speechless
Thoughtless injections sub-sected
Redundant words belligerent and depthless
Official authorities label it requisite
Peripherally intrinsic, thin burgeoning crescent
Haphazardly disjunct in the end
Exclusion intuitive contusions at best
Considerable pauses emphatiC
Omitting sound at word-tempO
Manufactured tactful addenduM
Mysterious moon-ink maelstroM
Addict's habitual splicing stigmA
----------------------------------------
Of course, I'm seeing now that this is all very font-oriented... Sigh... At least on my end the double acrostic lines up!
